3 Things To Consider Before Creating A Website

For the sake of this article I am going to presume that you are not building a website just for the sake of building one. I am going to presume that you want to create a website to share your interests with others around the world. With this in mind you will also like to have it generate some income for you.

There is nothing better than making money as a byproduct of doing something that you love. Personally I am all for that. People who love what they do - do a better job in the first place. There is a great difference in motivation between those who are interested and those who are not.

The first thing you have to consider is how people are going to find your site. You can advertise - this will direct people to your site - but as we all know people are more skeptical when it comes to advertising. They feel they are being sold to. So as a consequence they can be defensive.

On the other hand if they are searching for information online and in the process your site comes up on the first page of Google for there search results - then they are very interested in visiting your site to get information that they need to solve their problems. When they land on your site and you provide them with rich quality content, they will feel comfortable and as a consequence respect your recommendations - the end result being sales for you.

So the second thing you need to consider is how your interests are being searched online. What keywords do people use and is there a lot of competing web pages for that keyword. Then you need to strike a balance between competition and search volume.
