Stop My Husband From Snoring - I Can Not Sleep
Do you have a snoring husband who is keeping you awake at night. He seems to be well rested in the morning and has no idea that he kept you awake all night long. 1. Go To Bed Before Your Husband: Make him agree to give you at least an hour to an hour an a half head start so that you can fall asleep before he comes to bed. This will help you be able to fall asleep and most likely his snoring will not keep you tossing and turning all night long.
2. Change His Sleeping Position: If you husband is used to sleeping on his back have him sleep on his side. While sleeping on his back it will cause his soft tissues in the back of the throat to relax and that is what causes the loud snoring noises. If you can not get him to stay on his side; sew something like a tennis ball or any other kind of ball to the back of his pajamas; so that when he rolls over on his back he will be forced to roll onto his side.
3. Take Away His Favorite Pillow: If he has a fluffy bulky pillow (like mine does.) Have them begin using a pillow that is not as fluffy and bulky. Which will not have the head as elevated as his favorite pillow. With a fluffy pillow your spouse will experience a kink in the neck which will make his breathing more difficult.
4. Have His Stay Away From Alcohol Before Bed: Everyone loves to drink a cold glass of beer or a glass of wine; and there is nothing wrong with it. However if you currently suffer from sleeping problems or sleep apnea then you should avoid consuming alcoholic beverages at least three hours prior to going to bed for the night. Alcohol acts as a sedative and relaxes the muscles around the mouth and will cause your husband to produce those loud sounds that have been keeping you awake every night.
If you husband or wife continues to snore throughout the night I recommend you have them see the family doctor; because snoring can be the cause of other medical problems. We all require at least 8 hours of sleep throughout the night and if you are not getting it you could be hurting your health and other areas of your life.
